Dear colleague,

The EaP CSF is pleased to launch a call for applications in relation to its latest ambitious research and advocacy project, around the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Eastern Partnership countries.

As part of its ongoing #PrepareEaP4Health campaign, the EaP CSF will produce  a series of thematic policy papers.

In order to elaborate these papers, the EaP CSF is seeking applications from research teams or individual researchers with the necessary expertise (check the Terms of Reference here) to deliver feasible policy recommendations to EaP and EU decision-makers, as well as to actors from the civil society, media, business, and other sectors.

As a valued expert within the EaP CSF's network, we would like to encourage you to apply, and to share the details of this call with your own professional networks, should you know any suitable candidate(s) for this assignment.

Our policy papers will seek to examine and promote the ways in which the challenges posed by the COVID-19 crisis may be transformed into opportunities for positive societal change.

These papers, the subjects of which were proposed by the Forum's thematic Working Groups (WGs), will cover the following topics:

  1. Decentralisation and local government in the EaP countries (WG1)
  2. Freedom of speech and media in the COVID-19 context (WG1)
  3. SMEs digital transformation in the EaP countries in COVID-19 times: challenges and digital solutions (WG2)
  4. Waste and water management and transition to circular economy (WG3)
  5. COVID-19 effects on transport (WG3)
  6. Digital literacy in EaP countries (WG4)
  7. Access to online and offline education in EaP countries (WG4)
  8. Impact of COVID-19 on labour migration from EaP countries to the EU (WG5)

In addition to these, a framework paper summarising the trends and conclusions of all 8 sector-specific papers will also be produced.

The deadline for this call is 30 October 2020 at 23:59 (Brussels time/CEST).

We sincerely hope that your application, and those of your valued professional contacts, will be among the applications received. For more details, please visit our page here
