Dear conservation leader,
We would like to invite you to the next Reverse the Red webinar: Empowering Women in Conservation to talk about the experience of being woman in conservation, and how we can increase the opportunities and contributions of women in this field. We will go deep into stories that demonstrate the multiple pathways our incredible panel has taken in their careers, highlighting that there is no single path to follow and that contributions to conservation science can be made in a multitude of ways.
Panelists will discuss what unique challenges women encounter to find ways to bridge the gap between science, management and on-ground implementation in their roles, and how they have moved between traditional academia, science, and management positions in key organizations at different stages in their careers to suit environmental challenges and overcome them. We hope that this webinar will inspire other young women to take up the challenges of a career in conservation science, and to encourage conservation colleagues to make more workplaces for future scientific women.
Featuring: Dr. Jenny Gray, CEO, Zoos Victoria (Moderator); Dr. Purnima Devi Barman, Wildlife Biologist and founder of the Hargila Army; Trang Nguyen, Wildlife Conservation Scientist and Founder and Executive Director of WildAct; Dr. Amanda Vincent, Director and Co-Founder, Project Seahorse; Professor, Institute for the Oceans and Fisheries, The University of British Columbia; Chair, IUCN SSC Seahorse, Pipefish and Seadragon Specialist Group and IUCN SSC Marine Conservation Committee.
Together we can work towards new solutions for species conservation!
