Newsletter n° 5 : mid-term results

Over the next two months an Annual Coordination Platform for the Programmatic Cooperation Framework will be held in each Eastern Partnership country: Armenia on 7 October; Azerbaijan on 13 October; Moldova on 18 October; Ukraine on 26 October; Georgia on 28 October and Belarus on 3 November. The first part of these meetings is open to the media for the presentation of the mid-term results of the projects. More detailed information can be found on the PCF website.

GirlsGoIT summer camp in Moldova

39 girls aged between 16 and 20 from 10 regions of Moldova had the opportunity to learn about web development, human rights for internet users, network neutrality, teamwork and aspects related to the continuity of the programme and community mobilisation.

Ensuring Women's Access to Justice

The second and third regional workshops to develop a training manual on Ensuring Access to Justice for Women have taken place and the full draft of the manual will be presented at the regional conference of the project in Chisinau (the Republic of Moldova) on 24-25 October 2016.

Recommendations on Armenia electoral code

Two joint opinions on the new Electoral Code of Armenia were provided by the Council of Europe Venice Commission and the OSCE/ODIHR. According to the Second opinion  in July 2016, the Electoral Code  takes on board a significant number of previous recommendations.

Certificates Awarded to Trainers of the Armenian Justice Academy

Certificates were awarded to 22 trainers of the Justice Academy who successfully passed courses on general criminal investigative methodology; investigations of alleged torture and ill-treatment and cases involving the right to life; investigations involving vulnerable victim/witnesses and suspects and pretrial detention and related investigatory issues.

Publication of a report on Law Bar Associations best practice

The President of Georgia, Giorgi Margvelashvili opened the  International Conference on the Independent, Qualified and Ethical Exercise of the Profession of Lawyers where the report was presented. The report acts an inventory of best practices developed and applied by Bar Associations in several countries including the Eastern Partnership.
