It's a funny old game, running a neighbourhood restaurant. Second guessing the politicians (often advised by scruffy professors with a plethora of books in the background during their online interviews) ensures we’re kept on our toes.
Quite why we’re this week lumped with hairdressers and nail technicians as a business with 'prolonged person-to-person contact' demonstrates that the powers that be haven’t a Scooby on how we operate and have re-engineered and upped our ante since 1st May.
Great to see so many of you ordering and collecting for family, friends and neighbours who are still adhering to the Government guidelines. The BBQ Ribs and skinny chips last week certainly enjoyed the thumbs up.
We’ll stick with the takeaway/collection service seven days a week once permitted to open the restaurant because we are well aware that not everyone will want to return immediately to a full restaurant environment. Many of you have told me you’ll opt for both experiences in the new normal.
We’re already filling up with bookings for Saturday 4th July and beyond so best search for those diaries that you haven’t used in 10 weeks!
Still hopeful of some common sense being applied and bringing an opportunity for us to venture and cater al fresco seven days a week noon through to 7pm, weather permitting of course. Potentially a three-ring circus with indoors, al fresco and takeaway options for you all to determine what suits your particular circumstances.
As ever,
Ian
