It’s the framework / structure for Company’s operational guidelines whereby staff is aware of what can and can’t be done, practise, claim, dress code, reporting hours, leave application, etc. It should be made available for all staff within the company. Yes, it’s like school standard ground rules whereby teachers and staff are aware and adhere to them.
HR dept does not want to “fight fire spot” when there’s a spark. Time, effort and consistency standards need to be there for staff to “know” a fair and equal across board code of practises. Of course, there’ll always be exceptional so Policies & Procedures has to be updated when Govt regulation affecting Company/staff.
Do you have in place transport claim procedure? It’s negative then your Company needs to address this issue whether a need to add on in your current Policies & Procedures concerning this issue. My view point on this issue is not claimable. Staff is given option to claim only taxi fare [standard] so why a fuss over using family’s own car?
