The UN Committee on the Rights of the Child General Discussion (DGD) on children’s rights and the environment.

The DGD aims to promote understanding of the relationship between children’s rights and the environment, to identify what needs to be done for child rights-related law, policy and practice to take adequate account of environmental issues, and for environment-related law, policy and practice to be child-sensitive.

PANAP has submitted comments on the impacts of pesticides on children in Asia & the Pacific.

Thousands of children in Indonesia, some just 8 years old, are working in hazardous conditions on tobacco farms, Human Rights Watch said in a recent report. Many child tobacco workers said they mixed and applied pesticides and other chemicals.

Sign the petition to support the Monsanto Tribubal

The Monsanto Tribunal is an international civil society initiative to hold Monsanto accountable for human rights violations, for crimes against humanity, and for ecocide. Eminent judges will hear testimonies from victims, and deliver an advisory opinion following procedures of the International Court of Justice.

A parallel People's Assembly provides the opportunity for social movements to rally and plan for the future we want. The Tribunal and People's Assembly will take place between 14 and 16 October 2016 in The Hague, Netherlands.

Decades of experience has shown that, despite numerous “safe use” programmes, the safe use of highly hazardous pesticides (HHPs) is not possible. Petition calls on governments and corporations to take concrete steps towards a phase-out and ban of HHPs, to be replaced with safe, sustainable and ecological alternative methods of pest control.
