Seven weeks to go!

First up – there are still places left - so tell your mates! Summer's here, and it's riding time. Stunning riding on closed roads with beautiful scenery awaits. Get out there!

Official Endura Touro kit

Lots of people have been asking about Endura's official event kit. So far we've only seen the jersey, which looks awesome, but there will be bib shorts too. They'll go on sale at the start of July through Endura's website - the short sleeve jersey will be £39.99 and the bibshorts £54.99 plus postage. Jerseys in XS to XXL and bib shorts (with Endura's 600 series pad) in S to XXL. On sale at the event too.

Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op join the Touro!

We're delighted to announce that Edinburgh Bicycle Co-operative will be our mechanical and retail sponsors this year. They'll be helping with bike mechanics before the event and also out on course, and will also have bike essentials for sale at the start. With shops up and down the country, they are now one of the UK's premier bike retail chains, and uniquely retain their staff/ownership ethos.

Welcome aboard folks!

MACMILLAN NEWS: Win the green shirt!

Today, 89 people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer, and there are two million people in the UK living with the disease. More than one in three of us will get cancer at some stage in our lives, so it really does affect us all. With that in mind, we would like to incentivise your fundraising. Would you like to win one of Macmillan’s green cycling jerseys? All you have to do is (once you're signed up for the event) join #teammacmillan and have the highest UK fundraising total (for this event) and we will gift you with your lovely prize.

Do you have a story to share?

If you have a story to tell about taking part in the Tour O' The Borders, then we want to hear from you. Are you taking on this challenge to raise money for Macmillan because you or a loved one have been diagnosed with cancer? Or is this challenge the culmination of months of fitness training to transform your shape and your approach to life? Maybe this is part of a larger fundraising challenge you’ve set yourself or you’re thinking of cycling the route in fancy dress? We are looking for people with interesting stories to share who would be happy to talk to the media to help raise awareness of this event and encourage more people to sign up to cycle for Macmillan. Get in touch with Michelle Gallacher from Macmillan on mgallacher@macmillan.org.uk to find out more.

We're currently sorting out a new video for 2014 - in the meantime here's the one we made last year featuring some great local roads, and riders including pro riders Evan Oliphant and Grant Ferguson, and even Enduro World Series MTB athlete Katy Winton!
