Dear ,

The plants are really liking this warm weather!  And the hummingbirds are very busy both in the greenhouse and outside in the perennials.  Below on the left is a scented geranium called Lemona (lemon scented leaves when you rub them).  In the center, Geum Double Blazing Sunset is perennial. And the shade-tolerant abutilon on the right is full of buds and blossoms.

Enjoy, and as always, please share this info with people you think might be interested.  Note: we will be open regular hours on July 4.

FRESH PRODUCE! Starting Now

At Amazing Flower Farm & our Peterborough location for produce: Monadnock Oil & Vinegar

We’re trying something new this year.  In the past, we have sold fresh produce to local restaurants and at farmers' markets.  This year we are selling our own fresh, naturally grown produce online.  If you want, you can sign up for our availability email, which we will send out twice a week to let you know what is ready to pick.

Order online:  we will harvest your order in the morning of pickup days, so freshness is guaranteed.  You may pick up on Tuesdays and Fridays from 3-6 pm at either of two locations—here at Amazing Flower Farm, or through the graciousness of Monadnock Oil & Vinegar Company, at  43 Grove Street in Peterborough.

Imagine, picking up your lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers for a delicious salad, and before you walk out the door, getting a bottle of that Cranberry Pear Vinegar and some Walnut Oil, or maybe that heavenly White Truffle Oil.  The best!

And, if you’re picking up your veggies at our farm in New Ipswich, consider continuing down Town Hill a bit for some incredible dark chocolate for dessert on Fridays.  One of our customers recommended Porter Hill Sweets to us and we can’t stop raving!  11 Porter Hill Road, New Ipswich.  Not only Buy Local, Buy the BEST!

Here is How You Get our Produce:

1. Sign up here for our produce availability email list..
2. When you receive an availability update, or would like to order more produce, use our Order Form to let us know what you would like picked.
3. Come get your veggies. Pick-up days are Tuesdays and Fridays 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. Pick-up locations are Amazing Flower Farm in New Ipswich and Monadnock Oil & Vinegar Company in Peterborough.

Simple ways to add interest, color & flavor to meals! Come get ideas on how to use edible flowers, learn what flowers are safe and delicious, and sample the fare.

Critters to Look For

The hornworm moths are emerging in our high tunnel.  That usually happens in advance of emergence in the garden (it’s warmer in the high tunnel).  As you can see it is an impressive moth.  It is active at night.  Click here for more pictures and how to identify and control this pest of tomatoes.  Dr. Alan Eaton of UNH Cooperative Extension provides this information tailored to New Hampshire.

Just a plug here for a worthy government program:  Cooperative Extension has been around for 100 years, and is a cooperative effort between USDA, UNH, and New Hampshire County governments to provide useful, research-based information and assistance free to the public.
