Video: How ACIM for Dummies came about (30 min)
Hi. I am Tom Wakechild, the best-selling author of the A Course in Miracles-Dummies Series and Ending Fear: The 7R Formula for Fearless Awakening.
The reason that I was an unlikely candidate for writing A Course In Miracles for Dummies had nothing to do with my background. Instead, it was because I was no longer seeking to find anything new on the spiritual level. For me, my spiritual seeking years seemed to be over. I felt that I had already found what I had been looking for. I had overthrown the world’s fear-based thought system and found the inner peace and happiness that I had sought. Unlike the original scribes of the course whose private lives were in turmoil, I was not seeking a better way. I was someone who had already found it. This is probably why I was directed by spirit not to draw on any information from secondhand sources or previous publications about the course. This is why I say, “the Course found me.” ACIM provided the overarching philosophy behind what personal revelations had previously taught me about a God of unconditional love. Yet, ACIM provided the final key to the puzzle when it stated that God did not create our world, we did. That final idea allowed my rational mind to be able to reconcile this world of seeming hate and fear with a God of unconditional love. Thus, when the Course found me, I was ready to follow that guidance.
