What's new and what's happening in store at Reverse Garbage Queensland

Hello there Reverse Garbage Queensland fans,

Welcome to October - the sun is shining and it's a big month here at RGQ! The annual Reverse Emporium Exhibition is almost here! Our staff have been beavering away in the background gathering Brisbane's best re-use and up-cycle artists, craftspeople, dress-makers and performers to make this year's event extra special. In addition to the opening night spectacular (Saturday Oct 15, 6pm – see you there) we have a great line up of master-class workshops (more details below) and a cracker family fun day event on Saturday Oct 22. Grab your ticket for the Marble Run team challenge where teams build their own marble run from salvaged materials and race other teams for a prize. QUT School of Industrial Design will be on hand to help teams optimize their marble run creations. Book your team place here.

PLEASE NOTE the Woolloongabba Warehouse will close early at 3pm on exhibition day Oct 15. We will reopen at 6pm for the exhibition which will include late night shopping. And if you can't get enough of Elemental Brisbane after dark, by all means come back on Thursdays 20 and 27 October - we're open for shopping until 8:30pm both nights!

After all the excitement of the exhibition dies down we'll still have plenty to keep you busy. The Woolloongabba warehouse will become a Halloween house of fun on Saturday 29 Oct with a FREE 'Spot the spider' treasure hunt for kids and a haunted mini making table to whip up some last minute decorations.

For early years educators our popular PD event returns on Saturday 29 Oct – book your place here and read our reflections on a recent visit to Reverse Garbage in Sydney for their educator event Re-Play.

See you in the Woolloongabba warehouse soon!

WHO ARE WE?

Reverse Garbage Queensland is a not-for-profit worker run co-operative that promotes environmental sustainability and resource reuse. We collect high quality industrial discards, diverting them away from landfill and sell them at a low cost to the general public.

We collect from more than 300 businesses and factories in the greater Brisbane area, with approximately three tonnes coming into the warehouse each week. With a truck full of materials coming in almost every day, there's always something new and different to find.

We run a variety of environment and waste focused art workshops and educational talks and tours to suit every age and group. We also run a mail order service and host Reverse Emporium gallery and gift shop promoting local artists, craft workers and designers who salvage, reuse and up-cycle materials.
