Staff benefits During Unpaid Leave - Update 2

Dear all,

Do you allow staff to have the fringe benefits while on 3 months unpaid leave? E.g.: medical & dental claim, group insurance H&S, PA and others.

For most companies, unpaid leaves or LOA (Leave of Absence) are classified as Short or Long. All benefits usually continues to apply for employees on Short LOA, but benefits are withdrawn for employees on Long LOA. Long LOA typically means > 3 months, but could be a different duration according to the company's definition.

Our practice is prorate all benefits base on working days. In another word, staff is not entitled for any benefit during NPL.
