JUNE NEWSLETTER

This is the new cover for the new short story collection. It will be partner to 'Tales From Old Japan' and I hope it's like enough, yet different enough, to that cover. Your comments gratefully received as readers view things differently from writers. I rather like it but then I am told my taste in covers is not usually marketable.

A shorter selection of books this month, the northern hemisphere's summer relaxing time I expect so even writers are taking time off their work. The books are all historical. Most of them are free so enjoy filling your reader or mobile phone.

REVIEW

I've just finished this novel. I learnt a lot about the early automobile creation. It's well written and wryly amusing.

'The Woman at the Wheel' by Penny Haw

Carl Benz may be known as the “Father of the Automobile,” but Bertha Benz was the woman behind the wheel driving the world into a new era. I enjoy novels which allow women a little glory, especially if they deserve it. Bertha could not be an engineer, but she should have been. She not only encouraged her husband and supported him, she drove the vehicles. Inspiring historical fiction based on the real life of Bertha Benz, whose husband built the first prototype automobile, which eventually evolved into the Mercedes-Benz marque.

Another peaceful humorous read which won't send you to bed to have nightmares.

Happy Reading
