Project Updates

Price information dissemination for fisheries

The project MAAS-O is working towards building a price information system for the fisheries ecosystem in Odisha.

Collecting daily prices from selected markets in the state is the first step in building such a system, as no large-scale dataset exists in the country. In the first phase data daily price data from 16 wholesale and retail markets (across six districts) will be collected and eventually cover the entire state.

We leverage Sagar Mitras (extension staff deployed across the country through GoI’s PMMSY scheme) to collect daily prices and have leveraged a data collection tool developed by the National Fisheries Development Board (FM-PIS) to bring in the sustainability of the intervention.

Data and Insights Units

GDi has recently kickstarted an initiative, Data and Insight Unit with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation around gender inclusiveness and digital connectivity. The program envisions to generate evidence in understanding factors which plays a role in gender connectivity.

What is new at GDi?

Meet Yashika!

Yashika Singhal joins GDi after recently completing B.Tech (Aerospace) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, where she also headed the Classical and Folk Arts Club and was a part of the basketball team.

In the past, she has interned with the Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement, where she monitored the Viveka Scholar Program that aims to prepare pre-university tribal students in Karnataka for competitive examinations like JEE and NEET.

At GDi, she looks forward to working for the betterment of society. In her free time, you can find her dancing, listening to music or playing basketball.

Meet Daksh!

Daksh Arora joins GDi with 3 years of work experience across Management Consulting at Deloitte and Venture Capital at Lumis Partners.

Daksh holds a Bachelor of Management Studies specialising in Finance from Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, Delhi University.

Daksh worked on a number of large-scale public sector consulting projects in the transportation and logistics space, including strategy formulation and implementation of the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS-UDAN) of the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

A zeal for creating impact and a passion for solving complex problems is what brings Daksh to GDI Partners as a Consultant at the CEO's Office. In his free time, Daksh enjoys playing squash and table tennis, and watching cricket, comic book movies or sitcoms."
