Another successful semester is almost behind us. The number of participants, leaders and board members has grown to over a “record breaking” 500 people! Outstanding to say the least!
There is a lot of “behind the scenes” work that goes on before the beginning of the semester and also at the end, in preparation for the next semester. A huge applause to everyone who makes this possible.
In this newsletter, you will find information about the upcoming Registration day. Be sure to mark the day on your calendar. If you attended in excess of 5 times last semester in each of your activities, you will be automatically accepted in January providing you are at the registration day before 11:30am to sign in. You still have to read the waiver and complete and sign the registration form and have it initialled by your leader on that day.
There will be additional activities in January which you can read about in this newsletter. We are all excited about the new offerings! I would like to thank you all in advance for your patience with waiting for the official January to May 2020 schedule. (Yes, I said 2020! Wow!!)
Many have asked why we cannot have the schedule and registration documents available online sooner. The reason is because there is such a short turn around between the fall semester ending and the beginning of the next.
Every one of the 6 venues, classrooms, gym and spaces all need to be re-confirmed. Also the leaders and start dates of activities need to be confirmed and this cannot be done any quicker than we already do.
There will be an email sent to you when the new schedule and registration form is online.
Winter is a beautiful season in Brockville; however, it can be a little messy sometimes. A reminder for everyone who has an activity at the Wall Street United Church, where many rooms are in use by AC 50+ members:
Please remove your boots at the front door and put them in a plastic bag and take them to your activity room.
This will be very helpful for Trevor, trying hard to keep the entire church clean and dry. Trevor does so much for us, this is one way we can do something for him! I believe everyone removes their boots already at the other venues.
Also speaking of Winter, be sure to read the section on the “Winter Weather Policy”. Regardless of your particular activity policy, if you don’t feel safe going out on a bad day, you may opt for a cozy fire and a cup of hot chocolate instead. Above all, be safe!
All of this talk about Winter has got me feeling festive! I would like to wish you a very happy and festive holiday season! Merry Christmas to you and yours. May you all be blessed with good health and happiness in the new year!
See you in January!
