Urban October is right around the corner, and this year again, CoHabitat Network will carry an online campaign on the occasion.

This campaign aims to spread the word about community-led housing initiatives, and this year, the focus will be on the access to land and financing. The Network will publish a short study and organize a special webinar. Stay tuned!

This roundtable discussion, organized by UNECE Committee, provides a platform for dialogue on the successes and challenges in the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 11 and other urban-related SDGs.

The “Mapping social innovation and collaboration in housing – Co-Lab Mapping” is a project developed by Co-Lab Research and urbaMonde.

Co-Lab Research organises a seminar in which this project will officially be launched, followed by a panel discussion with international experts about the importance of an instrument with which quantitative data sets can be ordered.

This event will provide an opportunity to discover and analyse the processes, lessons and solutions to three of the biggest housing challenges, from three remarkable organisations. This will be followed by insightful commentary from a panel key housing experts, including:

• Leilani Farha, former UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Housing and current Global Director of The Shift;
• David Ireland, Chief Executive of World Habitat;
• Christophe Lalande, Head of Housing Unit at UN-Habitat; and
• Claudia Murray, Research Fellow at the School of Real Estate and Planning at the University of Reading.

World Habitat's Annual Report 2020 details the organisations' programmes, collaborations with other organisations - including the members of the CoHabitat Network, and our progress to help more people live in safe and secure housing across the world through community driven initiatives and more.
