Happy New Year! Here's to 2022

Put some dates in your diary this January! We all need something to look forward to and engaging with arts and culture is great for our mental health and wellbeing.

Tom Stoppard’s Olivier Award-winning new play is a passionate drama of love, family and endurance.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Leopoldstadt was the old, crowded Jewish quarter of Vienna, Austria. But Hermann Merz, a factory owner and baptised Jew now married to Catholic Gretl, has moved up in the world. We follow his family’s story across half a century. A company of 40 actors represent each generation of the family in this epic, but intimate play.

Filmed live on stage in London’s West End, Tom Stoppard’s masterpiece is magnificent (Independent) and should not be missed.

Jim Causley: Songs of Devon

A proud Devonian, Jim Causley has dedicated much of his career to researching and reviving the forgotten gems of songs from his native western peninsula.

Drawing from Victorian folksong collectors such as Sabine Baring-Gould and Cecil Sharp, more modern collectors and writers including Cyril Tawney and Tony Rose, living singers and a few of his own hits, Jim presents an evening jam-packed with Devonshire delights.

From Arscott of Tetcott to Widecombe Fair and everything in between, this show is a thoroughly enjoyable introduction to Devon’s rich musical culture.
