Prisoners of Love: Becky now available

Hi Romance Fans,

I can’t believe it’s almost November already! Of course, based on what I’ve seen in the stores lately, one would think it was almost December. Honestly, putting out Christmas items before Halloween seems a bit much for me.

The Twinadoes and I, along with my wonderful daughter, made a visit to a local pumpkin patch—where only Halloween was celebrated, thank you very much—along with their cousin, Ady. Below you will see a picture of the three of them once they had their faces painted—Wonder Woman, Captain America, and The Hulk. We had a lovely time, and I’m looking forward to seeing them in their Halloween costumes soon.

Have a great November, and keep thinking turkey, not Christmas trees!

New Release ~ Prisoners of Love: Becky

Becky Davidson has been on her own since she was thirteen years old. The last three years she has been travelling the country with Dr. Snodgrass who sells elixir for all sorts of medical problems. They are generally run out of town by the third or fourth day. Their last stop was Dodge City, and this time Dr. Snodgrass took all the money and ran. But left Becky behind.

In jail for running a scam, Becky agrees to travel with three other female prisoners, and Miss Nellie, a former brothel owner who is chaperoning them, on a wagon train to Santa Fe as a mail order bride. Before they leave, Becky is befriended by Mace Jensen, the Santa Fe County sheriff who is escorting three recently captured outlaws to Santa Fe.

Once they arrive at their destination, friendship grows between Becky and Mace, as she works with him in the jailhouse and dodges every man Miss Nellie presents to her as a potential husband.

Sheriff Jensen is the man she wants, but he feels they would scandalize the town should they marry. He is a black man, and she a white woman. Can love overcome the problems the sheriff sees for them, or should he be sensible and let the woman he loves marry another man?

In 1877 saloon girl, Cinnamon O’Brien, sits in Dodge City jail with three other women charged with various crimes. Her charges, of course, are totally unfair since she only hit the mayor over the head with the pitcher of beer because he grabbed her lady parts. Now the marshal gives the four women a choice: join up with the wagon train in Fort Dodge and head to Santa Fe as a mail order bride, or when the judge sobers up, he’ll be so ornery he’ll probably sent them to the state prison. Before they even leave, childhood friend, Jedediah Nelson, newly ordained preacher headed to Santa Fe, and in need of a wife, proposes to Cinnamon. A preacher and a saloon girl? She’s about to give him a wild ride.

Trick and Treat Halloween Recipes for Kids

1 can (235 g) crescent rolls
2 1/2 slices processed cheese slices, quartered
10 hot dogs
Non-stick cooking spray
Mustard or ketchup

Heat oven to 375°F (190°C). Unroll dough; separate at perforations creating 4 rectangles; press perforations to seal. With knife or kitchen scissors, cut each rectangle lengthwise into 10 pieces, making a total of 40 pieces of dough. Slice cheese slices into quarters (1/2 slice cheese, cut in half).

Wrap 4 pieces of dough around each hot dog and 1/4 slice of cheese to look like "bandages," stretching dough slightly to completely cover hot dog. About 1/2-inch (2 cm) from one end of each hot dog, separate "bandages" so hot dog shows through for "face." On ungreased baking sheet, place wrapped hot dogs (cheese side down); spray dough lightly with non-stick cooking spray.

Bake 13 to 17 minutes or until dough is light golden brown and hot dogs are hot. With mustard, draw features on "face."

Oreos
Pretzels
Frosting (orange or white)
Mini-chocolate chips (optional)

Open up the Oreo.

Break 4 pretzel sticks in equal halves.

Place 4 pretzel legs on each side of the Oreo into the filling.

Replace the cookie on top again.

Use frosting and/or mini chocolate chips to make eyes.

What I'm Reading Now

After years of reluctantly living the wild life in Haskell, Wyoming, all Rose Rawlins wants is to settle down into a quiet position as a maid for the Bond family in Brynthwaite, England. She takes her position as nurse for charming and irascible Mr. Bond, and confidant of adventurous Miss Elaine Bond, seriously, vowing that nothing will get in the way of her duty to her new friends.

Until handsome and tempting Dr. Isaac Newsome comes along.

Widower Isaac Newsome doesn’t feel as though he has anything to offer a woman, but from the first moment he lays eyes on Rose, that belief is challenged. Rose’s refreshing, American ways breathe new life into what was becoming a stale existence. But in spite of the fiery attraction between them, Rose is holding something back.

It takes a trio of mischievous young men from Brynthwaite Municipal Orphanage, all of Mr. Bond’s wiles, a mysterious and regal bookseller, who is also new to town, and a daring boat race to bring Rose and Isaac together, but even then, will a sudden tragedy pull them apart?
