It really is old news that ETFs change names to match current trends and frequent search words – like ‘impact’, ‘ESG’ or ‘sustainable’. Besides the poor ethical business conduct this is part of the bomb under sustainable investing because it undermines retail investors believe in sustainable investing. Here are some news on the 'rebranding' of sustainable funds

When simplifying complexity is dumbing it down

You might have heard that some are talking about reducing ESG to only E=emissions – I don’t know the ‘genius' who thought of that – but it’s about the dumbest thing I’ve heard this summer. The argument is; that E and S and G is just too complicated – but dumbing down things, so it fits the same level un-sustainable companies and investors are at, is not the answer. We are at the step in the process, where we need to define and standardize definitions. Later comes how to report and measure – then comes requirements and then raising the bar.
