This February we're excited to bring you a new dog resource page, antivenom research highlight in the 3-minute 3Rs, share the latest 3Rs highlight at the FDA, and let you know of our upcoming research!
Do you work with research dogs? Get new ideas for refining these wonderful animals. Our resource page gives you the most up-to-date recommendations from experts. We also highlight videos showcasing dogs in research that you could share with the public.
In our latest 3-minute 3Rs podcast we highlight the 3Rs in antivenom research, the effects of "silent" fire alarms on birds, and the possibility of replacing mice with Drosophilia for obesity research.
In January, the FDA published a report highlighting what their scientists are doing to foster new regulatory approaches that can improve predictability & potentially refine, reduce, and replace animals in research. This includes MPS technologies.
Do you handle laboratory mice? Or are you familiar with your institution's rodent health monitoring strategies? Then stay tuned in the next few months for an invitation to participate in NA3RsC's upcoming surveys. We want to know what you think about non-aversive handling (e.g., tunnel handling) & environmental monitoring.
As you can see, NA3RsC is working hard to advance the science and education of refining, reducing, and replacing animals in laboratory research. Your donation to the North American 3Rs Collaborative will enable us to expand these efforts.
