one6G at the EuCNC & 6G Summit

On June 8, 2022, one6G organized a Special Session at the EuCNC & 6G Summit gathering over 30 participants. The session titled “AI for 6G and Verticals” was chaired by the association’s chairwoman, Nancy Alonistioti and featured presentations delivered by experts from academia and industry.

3rd contribution to the ITU-R Vision for 2030 and Beyond

For the 3rd time, one6G has submitted its contribution to the “IMT Vision for 2030 and Beyond.” one6G also participated the IMT for 2030 and beyond workshop of WP 5D held on June 14, 2022, where one6G presented 6G use cases and enabling technologies.

Online survey results: “vertical sectors" requirements for 6G

Under the leadership of Working Group 1 Use cases, KPIs and future market and business scenarios, one6G conducted an online survey “vertical sectors’ requirements for 6G.” The purpose of surveying representatives of different verticals was to collect their views, requirements, comments, and proposals to enable the identification of vertical use cases and scenarios.

one6G at WCNC 2022

On April 13, one6G organized an IEEE WCNC 2022 special session titled “one6G view on enabling 6G technologies for verticals”. The session topics ranged from the overview of potential 6G use cases for verticals, non-terrestrial networks, MIMO, to integrated sensing and communications.

one6G provides a second contribution to the ITU-R Vision for 2030 and Beyond

one6G has submitted its second contribution to the ITU-R, responding to a request for input to the “IMT Vision for 2030 and Beyond.” Our input will contribute to shaping the ITU-R recommendation on IMT-2030 — the vision recommendation for the next generation of mobile communication systems.

one6G at EuCAP 2022

On March 28, one6G organized a session titled “one6G view on propagation models/measurements and antennas for next-generation MIMO systems” gathering over 70 participants. It generated a lively discussion with 15 insightful questions from the audience following the panel discussion.

one6G Open Lectures

In an effort to share the progress and results of the work performed within the Association with the extended one6G community, one6G launched a series of open lectures. These 2-hour online events feature presentations delivered by high-level speakers followed by interactive Q&A sessions. one6G open lectures are open to anyone interested in the world’s journey toward 6G.

one6G Open Lecture 1 on 6G Network AI – recap

The first one6G open lecture took place on May 5, 2022, and covered the topic of 6G Network AI. The event, moderated by Nancy Alonistioti, one6G Chairwoman, gathered 265 unique viewers from across the world.

one6G White Papers

one6G Working Groups waste no time. In the last quarter, two White Papers were completed and published.

6G technology overview

Released on June 9 during the EuCNC & 6G Summit 2022, this white paper outlines the key enabling technologies that constitute the pillars of the evolution towards 6G. For each enabling technology, a background covering the how and the why the technology is relevant to 6G, followed by a number of relevant use cases is provided. The key challenges are also outlined in the paper, providing a comprehensive overview of the state of the art of each covered technology.

6G Vertical Use Cases: Descriptions and Analysis

Released on June 13 during the ITU-R Working Party 5D meeting, the paper captures use cases from both technology and vertical industry perspectives. Although the paper does not include an exhaustive list of use cases, it aims to trigger use case-driven technology development as use cases are not only a starting point to identify requirements and technology enablers but also potential business opportunities and go-to-market strategies.

CONASENSE 2022 (June 27-29, 2022)

Under the title “6G Communication, Services and Sustainability”, CONASENSE 2022 targets researchers and engineers specializing in 6G services, networks, and the Internet of Things (IoT), as well as interested students. The event will once again provide an excellent platform for experts to present their technical and commercial solutions and approaches.

1st International Conference on 6G Networking (July 6-8, 2022)

The conference aims to assess the progress of the various research efforts in areas that will forge 6G networks. The event will bring together top experts from academia and industry (including network operators) to stimulate discussions, introduce news ideas, and therefore contribute to the progress of 6G networking research.
