New doctors in the house: FSU sends off the College of Medicine's Class of 2016

The FSU College of Medicine hooded 119 new medical doctors — including the 1,000th graduate of the college — at a commencement ceremony Saturday at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall. The college now has 1,029 alumni. Read more ...

Associated Press: FSU oceanographer called to assess latest Gulf oil spill

Professor of oceanography Ian McDonald headed out to the Gulf last week to study the effects of Shell's recent 90,000-gallon oil spill. "We saw porpoises in the oil, we saw balls of bait fish in the oil," McDonald said. "From the air, you would have thought you were in the Deepwater Horizon spill." Read more ...
