First a little news about us:

1. Our shopping cart company "upgraded" us to a new cart with assurances that it would be "seamless." It wasn't. Is anything? We think all the problems are sorted out, but if you have any difficulty, please email Gene at orders@volcanoarts.com and tell him how we can help. The humans at Volcano Arts will help!

2. I'm leaving for England for a couple of weeks, but Gene will be here as usual filling your orders and handling the store. Be nice to him. He has to stay home and babysit Volcano Arts and the cats! ;-)

Our thoughts are turning to falling leaves, warm apple cider and Halloween! We have a couple of special edition products that we only offer during this time of year. Both of these products will be available until 10/31 only. Get them while you can.

Pumpkin Book Kit

This book kit is so fun to make! We've taken the world's oldest binding stitch and updated the look with orange and black thread, pages and cover. The book could be decorated with a spooky label, beads and such, and the bold colors also look fantastic when left unadorned.

Included is the spooky magic showing how to get a 2-color chain stitch!

2017 Classes

There are seats available in both of my Book Jewels classes in 2017

• Learn the the basic skills of a metalsmith.
• Classes start 4/27 and 5/25
• There are five intense days of instruction, demos and hands-on work, including a discussion about the history of book furnishings.
• I'll teach you how to make medieval and contemporary metal book hardware, including clasps, corners, frontpieces and more.
• There are hundreds of sample books and metal hardware in the studio. Feel free to browse and learn.
• I don't care if you make book hardware in the class. I'm just as happy to help you design something else.
• We have a great arrangement with a fantastic local hotel.
• From beginner to intermediate, I'm here to help you take the next step.
• My classes are always wide ranging and very educational.
• I've been teaching since 1988, both nationally and in my studio here in beautiful Volcano, CA.
