Offers to present at the conference of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mathematics Alliance are due 26 August (conference will be held 30 October – 2 November 2016). Presentations that specifically explore the range of issues around quality teaching and learning in mathematics education for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners are encouraged.

Differentiated instruction in the secondary mathematics classroom can be a challenge. The authors use two simple but effective strategies that teachers can use across all mathematics content: open questions and parallel tasks.
