including doing so in the local context (regarding statements about the Patriarchate by journalist Ninia Kakabadze and the leader of Identoba organization) (8, of these 4 by media); religious discrimination (1); xenophobia (4); Armenophobia (2); spreading of incorrect information about Armenian religious buildings, based on a Russian source (8); unfounded claims about ethnic identity (2); homophobia (6); gender discrimination (2); anti-Western sentiments (12).

The issue of Armenian religious buildings
|

Based on Interfax news agency, Georgian media (Interpressnews, Reportiori, Netgazeti, Pirveli, Geworld.ge, Rezonansi, afternoon news programs of Rustavi 2 and Imedi) spread unverified information that Armenia requested UNESCO to recognize 450 churches in Georgia as Armenian ones.The media outlets did not contact representatives of Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia or UNESCO in order to verify this information before publishing it. The Interfax information includes a comment by a representative of the administration of the President of Azerbaijan, who accuses Armenian historians of falsifying history.
Later, denial of this fact by the Armenian Church was disseminated by Pirveli news agency, Rezonansi newspaper and Interpressnews agency in its press digest section, but the original unverified information is still accessible on their web-sites.
The Public Broadcaster story aired in the 8-o’clock Moambe tells about an address to the Prime Minister of Georgia, in which Armenian diocese demands clarification of the origins of 442 historical buildings, though the story also does not present the position on this issue of the Armenian diocese itself.
