AAMT@50: Directions

The conference to celebrate AAMT’s 50th anniversary will be held on 7–8 July at Ayers House, Adelaide, one of the city's iconic buildings – just the right surroundings for an event such as this. The conference will capture the association’s history as a platform for projecting its future. Planning the program and speakers is progressing and will be formally announced when registrations open in the lead up to Easter.

In the meantime, to ensure that you are invited to attend when registrations open, you can pre-register at https://www.cognitoforms.com/AAMTInc/AAMT50Preregistration.

[featured resource] Count like an Egyptian

David Reimer

The mathematics of ancient Egypt was fundamentally different from the mathematics of today, which makes solving ancient Egyptian problems quite an adventure. Find out about hieroglyphs, pyramid-building, agriculture, religion and bread baking while calculating areas in cubits, drawing the ‘perfect’ Egyptian woman, computing basic operations using Babylon notation, and working in different bases.
