Australian STEM Video Game Challenge

The Australian STEM Video Game Challenge is a free national competition open to all Australian students in Years 5–12. Registrations are now open (close 19 June) and submissions are due 21 August. Students are encouraged to work collaboratively to design and build an original video game based on STEM concepts or themes. Entries can be from individuals or from teams of up to four.

Kronosaurus Korner School Challenge

Marine-fossil museum Kronosaurus Korner is launching a new national mathematics/science competition for teams in Years 5–9. Competition submissions are due 6 November 2015.

Financial literacy grants

The Financial Literacy Australia (FLA) Grants program supports the advancement of financial literacy in Australia. Applications for the 2015 project grants round are currently open; expressions of interest close 29 May.

AAMT conference Indigenous scholarship

AAMT's Indigenous scholarship to attend and present at the AAMT conference has been awarded to Lillian Miller (Qld) who will run a workshop on Mandlany, a resource of mathematical activities, aligned with the Australian Curriculm, which focus on Indigenous language.
