AAMT seeks Implementation Officers

The Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers (AAMT) is in partnership with the University of Tasmania on the Towards Educating Mathematics Professionals Encompassing Science and Technology (TEMPEST) project. The project is seeking to employ two Implementation Officers: one for NSW and the ACT, and another for Queensland.

Numerical Acumen Semester One Challenge

The Numerical Acumen Semester One Challenge 2016 will run from 15 February – 13 June 2016.

Suitable for students in Years 2–9, it is a long-term, self-paced challenge. Entry to the challenge is free for:

  • primary schools in NT, SA and Victoria thanks to the generosity of The People's Choice Credit Union
  • schools in any state that are part of CASIO's free Prime Schools Plus program.

Connect with Maths Day on Friday 18 March is a one-day professional learning event to celebrate and promote the importance and diversity of mathematics in society, themed by the five Connect with Maths communities.

Education Perfect information sessions

Education Perfect will be holding sessions for teachers about its 2016 Proficiency Week (22–26 February, when its online diagnostic assessment tools will be available for use for free), as well as more information about the Education Perfect learning platform.

These PD sessions are open to all teachers of Science, Maths, English and/or Languages, who are interested in online learning and diagnostic assessment. Places will be allocated on a first-in, first-served basis in various capital cities.
