Greetings from the Doctor Who: Legacy team!

The BIG news today is that we have had a few new actors cleared this week. The first one we are revealing -- which has been both patiently and impatiently awaited by so many -- is the fabulous Donna Noble!  The first reveal of Donna Noble will be on Thursday during TWITCH!  Did you really need one more reason to join us?  We'll be lie at 12 noon pacific, 8 pm pacific.

Wednesday Patch Notes

  • 150% experience bonus in the fan area!
  • Week 2 version of Fan Area level: ‘(L50) Experimental Relative Dimension’!  This week it will drop 10 fragments (5 Black, 5 Rassilon) and a time crystal (once a week).  Please note that the bug from last week has been fixed.
  • (L40) Fragment Hunt (Pink) in the Fan Area, rewarding you with 3 - 5 Pink Heart Fragments per run!

What is the Fan Area?

Doctor Who: Legacy isn't your typical mobile game. We add new content constantly and don't want to stop any time soon. But that means we need player support!  We wanted to create an area of the game where users who support the game through the purchase of additional Time Crystals could find some extra levels and goodies.

There are now over 3 dozen levels in the Fan Area and tons of rewards (always guaranteed drops!) including Expert Ianto, Fan Jenny, Fan Churchill, Fan Ood Sigma, ARC (from Titan Comics), loads of costumes, higher drop rates on fragments, frequent promotions for extra experience, and more!

The Fan Area also includes "Anna's Playground" (created for one of our youngest fans), time fragment farming levels, a target practice level, and so much more (including the new Experimental Relative Dimension level which launches tonight and will change weekly!)

To unlock the Fan Area, simply make a single purchase of at least 6 time crystals. That's all there is to it and it goes a long way to helping us continue to make more wonderful content for Doctor Who: Legacy!

In Game Advertising

90%+ of our players have never and might never spend money to support the game – and we know that frequently this is because they simply cannot afford to spend money on games.

And we understand that and have no plans to change our freemium strategy by requiring it.

However, we have made the decision to begin to offer limited advertising in game, for those who have not (for whatever reason it may be) spent money to unlock the Fan Area. We have gone to great lengths to make the advertising as unobtrusive as possible - ads will only appear over top of the level select screen, as far away from disrupting the gameplay experience as possible.

It is the intention that anyone unlocking the Fan Area will never have to see ads—though some of our most hard core fans have asked for the ability to ‘opt in’ to ads as another way of supporting the game’s ongoing costs, and for that we are stunned and grateful. And we are putting that option in for those who requested.

For the infrequent case of a player who has unlocked the Fan Area and still ends up seeing an advertisement, we have put in a very simple and quick fix and you will just need to contact customer support to correct.

For more information about the change, please visit our website to read the letter from the team.
