Apparel and equipment // Apranga ir įranga
Clothing and proper gear can make or break the experience in the swimrun race. Thus choose carefully what you wear and carry on you. Some guidance is provided below.
//

|
Mandatory gear (will be provided by race organizers):
- whistle (must be easily accessible, can be substituted by individual whistle)
- swimcap (must be worn at all water stages)
- bib number (must be worn during entire race outside of all garments)
- SportIdent card (for timing of the course, usage instructions will be provided)
Recommended gear:
- wetsuit (weather is expected to warm up during the weekend; water temperature is moderate, thus wetsuit will not be mandatory; however, we recommend it as it adds buoyancy in the water and for longer courses helps to keep body warm; we advice short sleeve wetsuit, if possible with zipper in the front for easier breathability during the running stage)
- hand paddles (an inexpensive way to acquire stronger stroke. Tip: write down course segments on it in order to plan your course tactics).
- shoes (light, durable, drain quickly; most of orienteering shoes are great for that; wear light sports socks; running barefoot is dangerous; running sockless can make blisters)
- googles (makes more comfortable swim; choose open water version, not the clear swimming pool googles; check their stability on your head with the swimcap before the race;
- swim float (great way to add buoyancy at nearly zero weight on your body; some home-engineering is required to make two holes in it and attached a strap to hold the float on your thigh)
- food (gels, bars) - some will be provided on the course (more details in the next newsletter; however, a quick energy booster is adviced for longer courses.
//
- akinukai (dėl patogumo rekomenduojame plaukti su akinukais; rinkitės patamsintus, skirtus atviriems vandens telkiniams; išbandykite, kaip jie laikosi ant jūsų galvos su kepurėle;
