HGFA Operations Manual
As of Wednesday 25th March, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority has approved our new Operations Manual.
The new Operations Manual is now available for all, via the HGFA website. PLEASE READ IT.
AFTER READING IT..., If you have any queries either send an email to:
OR, login to the members forum and go to the "NEW OM" topic.
Essentially it is business as usual.
Hang Gliding & Paragliding:

It's a whole new world...
There are new Certifications/Endorsements and straight through training courses for Powered Paragliding, that are to be implemented.
"Straight Through" Powered Paragliding training (wheeled or foot) cannot commence until all documentation is completed.
This is primarily the Student Training Workbook which is currently being finalised by the PPG Sub-Committee.
Pilots currently holding a HGFA Power Endorsement, who wish to obtain a PPG Wheelbase Endorsement, can do so by completing a Wheelbase Endorsement course with either Lee Scott, Andrew Polidano or Matt Fox.
1/. For all powered operations, the minimum flight altitude is now 300ft, except with land owner permission.
2/. All powered operators must have the last 4 digits of their HGFA number either on their wing or on their harness/motor.
See section 4.2.5.
Instructors & Powered Paragliding:
Information relevant to attaining authorisation to carryout straight through PPG training will be sent to you shortly.
Airwaves is intended to communicate pertinent notices in-between the printed magazine editions.
If anyone has any suggestions or comments about 'Airwaves' then please send them through to: email@example.com.
This has been a quite serious sounding Airwaves issue, and it is serious. The HGFA has serious issues at hand; but, on behalf of the HGFA Board and Office - please enjoy your flying, stay safe, stay legal, play nice and have fun!
Questions and or feedback regarding HGFA Operations or Management are welcome! Please feel free to email the HGFA Committee (firstname.lastname@example.org).
