Annual General Meeting

Notice is hereby given of the Annual General Meeting of the AAMT. The AGM will be held on Saturday 30 April 2016 at Ian Potter House, 9 Gordon Street Acton ACT at 4.00 pm.

The agenda includes voting on a proposed change to the AAMT constitution. Further information about this will be emailed to all current AAMT members.

AAMT@50

AAMT is turning 50 and you're invited to the party! Among other celebrations, AAMT will be holding a conference 7–8 July 2016 in Adelaide. The conference will look at the history of the association and the future directions for mathematics education and the AAMT. 

If you might be interested in attending this conference, please pre-register to help the AAMT office get an understanding of possible numbers (no compulsion to attend by completing this form) and you will be emailed more information when it is available.

Kronosaurus Korner 2016 School Challenge

Following from last year's trial, the challenge is back for 2016! Suitable for Years 5–9, teams of 3–5 students undertake challenge tasks that allow for a wide range of responses, and encourage inquiry, research, problem solving and discussion – ‘rich’ tasks with focus on mathematics, science, communication and problem solving

The Challenge can be undertaken during any 2-week period before the end of October 2016.

ATSIMA conference 2016

The second Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mathematics Alliance conference will take place from Sunday 30 October – Wednesday 2 November at the University of Wollongong and Sandon Point Aboriginal Tent Embassy.

ICME delegation

The 13th International Congress on Mathematical Education (ICME-13) will be held 24–31 July 2016 in Hamburg, Germany. Any Australians intending to attend the congress are invited to become a part of the 'official' AAMT delegation, enabling you to connect with fellow Australians in attendance.
