Can you believe it's been 30 years since Series 2 first aired?

Friday at 9pm on 21st February 1986 saw series 2, episode 1, 'Return of the Seven (Part 1)' burst onto our screens when seven familiar faces reunited to give us a second helping of comedy / drama gold. And who would predict that this series would go on to be the most watched ever peaking with over 16 million viewers during episode 8, 'Marjorie Doesn't Live Here Anymore'?

We've heard fans across the country will be celebrating in their own unique way so why not dust down your box set, crack open a bottle of San Miguel and watch the opening episode in unison with us at 9pm on Sunday 21st February for a trip down memory lane!

Want to tell us how you’ll be marking the occasion? We’d love to hear from you so why not drop us a line via our Twitter or Facebook pages.

Over the last few weeks, we've been sharing some of your favourite clips during the run up to this milestone via social media. Unsurprisingly, one unforgettable clip - shared many, many times - sees Oz’s return to England subject to an ‘act of fascist intimidation’!

Sit back and enjoy this rough and ready 'full length version'… in more ways than one....

Never Forget Your Roots.....

It’s the T-Shirt you've all been waiting for!

Who can possibly forget an emotional Oz bidding ‘Auf Wiedersehen’ to his son Rod in their home City of Newcastle beneath the iconic structure of the Tyne Bridge in episode 8, ‘Marjorie Doesn’t Live Here Anymore’? It’s a heartfelt scene packed with passion, sentiment and emotion.

Well we’ve captured its essence beautifully with our brand new Oz ‘Signature Series’ T-shirt. Each is digitally screen printed on quality heavy cotton in ‘Oz Grey’ and features one of the most poignant lines of series 2 “…never forget your roots son… you’ll always be a Geordie no matter where you go…”. For that extra touch of class, we’ve included the official traditional logo on the sleeve in striking red and black.

This brand new addition to our 'Signature' range is available to newsletter readers first on pre-order via this link. Expected date for despatch: 19.02.16.

Please note: fortunately the Oz Signature t-shirt does not come with authentic sweat patches!

Sunday For Sammy 2016

The 28th of February 2016 marks the 8th north-east biennial entertainment extravaganza held in memory of the late actor Sammy Johnson at Newcastle City Hall. Sammy will be best known to Auf Wiedersehen, Pet fans as series two’s ‘Martin Cooper’ who ran into trouble with the boys during a night out in Ally Frasers ‘Cannibals’ nightclub in episode 9, ‘Hasta La Vista’.

The Sammy Johnson Memorial fund was founded by Tim Healy (Dennis) and Jimmy Nail (Oz) as a lasting tribute and a fitting way of keeping the memory of Sammy alive whilst supporting up and coming talent in the performing arts.

Over the years, the bill has featured a galaxy of stars from the worlds of TV, theatre and music including Tim Healy, Jimmy Nail, Kevin Whately, Timothy Spall, Christopher Fairbank, Denise Welch, Brendan Healy, Mark Knopfler, Charlie Hardwick, Brian Johnson, Billy Mitchell, John Miles, Jill Halfpenny and many more. As always, this year’s line-up will be kept top-secret until the curtain is raised on the day.

If you weren’t lucky enough to grab a ticket this time around, why not check out ‘The Very Best of Sunday for Sammy – Volume 1’, presented by Denise Welch (Jean, Series 2) available on DVD here.

And don’t forget, the Official Auf Wiedersehen, Pet Fan Site is proud to have teamed up with our friends at the Sunday for Sammy Trust. We donate 10% of all proceeds from our official merchandise range sold via our online shop here.
