Smith Family numeracy program

The Smith Family needs people from certain areas within Canberra, NT, WA, Queensland and Tasmania who have knowledge and experience with early years numeracy and who can facilitate small and large groups to deliver training for its numeracy program Let’s Count to early childhood educators. This is a paid casual position. For more information, please email sian.allan@thesmithfamily.com.au.

The Open Textbook Library is a free resource supported by a number of US universities. All the textbooks on the website have been funded, published, and licensed to be freely used, adapted, and distributed. These books can be viewed online and downloaded for no cost. Spring into Maths

Year 1 students at Gilson College (Vic.) celebrated National Literacy and Numeracy Week by drawing inspiration from nature for learning about multiplication. The eager students took pictures of trees that were putting out blooms and painted groups of flowers in a chosen pattern. They read a book called Math Potatoes and suggested painting flowers for their very own patterns!
