3 weeks to go until ATSIMA16

There are still limited places available at the second conference of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mathematics Alliance (ATSIMA).

"Value Us, Value our Education, Value our Future" is being held from Sunday 30 October - Wednesday 3 November 2016 at Sandon Point Tent Embassy and the University of Wollongong. For more information and to register, go to the ATSIMA website.

2017 Mathematical Modelling Challenge

The 2017 Australian phase of the International Mathematical Modelling Challenge (IMMC) will be held between 14 March and 7 April.

IMMC is an international event established to promote mathematical modelling in school mathematics. The Australian phase will involve teams of up to four students from the same school working collaboratively to solve a problem (set globally) by devising and applying an original mathematical model. The best Australian entries are entered in the international phase with more than 20 countries participating.

NLNW survey

There are still a few days to provide feedback on any National Literacy and Numeracy Week activities that you participated in. Your feedback is important – submissions close on 14 October. Go to the National Literacy and Numeracy Week website.

ISDDE Prize to developer of NetLogo

The International Society for Design and Development in Education has awarded its 2016 prize for excellence in educational design to Uri Wilensky of Northwestern University in the USA for his innovative and imaginatinve work on NetLogo over the past 25 years.
