The Impact of Humanoid Robots on Student Learning

Presenter: Monica Williams

This workshop will provide you with an understanding of how humanoid robots have impacted on learning and teaching. This research project is a three-year collaboration (2015–2017) between the AISSA, Swinburne University, QUT and UQ using two NAO humanoid robots (Pink and Thomas) in schools in South Australia. This multi-case study research involves metropolitan and rural and semi-rural schools and students from ELC to Year 10.

AAMT has partnered with the Australia Day of STEM, a national initiative designed to raise awareness of STEM career pathways. Participation in the program is offered completely free of charge for students and teachers throughout Australia.

The Day of STEM initiative enables students to test-drive STEM careers by selecting their own industry-leading Australian mentor who guides them through a wide range of STEM and cyber based careers, whilst simultaneously introducing them to challenging real-life career scenarios.
