The latest news from author Myra Johnson, plus a bonus short story!

Fall 2016

Hi, Friends!

Thanks for welcoming me into your inbox once again, and a special welcome to my recent new subscribers!

And . . .  I'm offering a bonus romantic short story along with this issue as a thank-you for following my updates! Click on the pink button at the bottom of this page and enter the password shown to read "Stealing Her Heart."

Wow, where did the summer go? We enjoyed some special family times in July when our Montana daughter and family came for a visit (despite our daughter's scary fall from a horse and a brief hospital stay only a week or so before their arrival).

Then in August we spent a week in South Carolina taking care of our other daughter's four children, ages 14, 11, 5, and 2, while she and her husband attended a missions conference. Were we crazy or what???

Later in August, Project Guy (that's code for my hubby!) and I drove to Nashville, where I participated in the Christian Fiction Readers Retreat and attended the annual American Christian Fiction Writers conference. Several of us also toured Andrew Jackson's historic home, The Hermitage.

Here I am at the CFRR with Janet Dean, Lyndee Henderson, Debby Giusti, and Jan Drexler.

And here it is October already! The days are getting shorter, the nights are getting chillier, and before we know it, the Christmas holidays will be upon us!

With that in mind, I'm delighted to announce that my Christmas novella Designs on Love (originally published in 2014 as part of the Seekers' Hope for the Holidays historical collection) is now available as a standalone for Kindle AND as a print book! You can order either version directly from Amazon. The print version is also available in the CreateSpace eStore.

Set in 1867, this is the story of seamstress Vera Mae Beasley, studying fashion design in Philadelphia. After her entire family in her hometown of Millican, TX, is wiped out by yellow fever, she returns home to grieve and to see to her late father's affairs. Rancher Jacob Collins has had romantic designs on Vera since they were teenagers. As Jacob helps Vera heal from her grief, he has a second chance to win her heart, and this time he won't let it slip away.

Also look for my August release, Castles in the Clouds, book 2 in the Flowers of Eden series. Set in Arkansas, these stories follow the personal and romantic journeys of three sisters during the Great Depression. Castles takes the middle sister, Larkspur, all the way to Africa as she seeks to fulfill her dream of teaching. But it is only after she consents to join educator Anson Schafer in his plans to establish schools for the underprivileged, beginning in her hometown of Eden, Arkansas, that she finds not only fulfillment but true love.

And, if you enjoy contemporary romance set in the great outdoors, you can hit the hiking trail as I join award-winning authors Cara Lynn James and Sandra Leesmith in Love Will Find a Way, a novella collection featuring three of America’s most beautiful outdoor settings: scenic northwest Connecticut, the rugged Big Bend Country of West Texas, and the expansive vistas of the Grand Canyon. Romance, faith, and adventure combine in these inspiring stories where love always finds a way! (By the way, that's my Montana daughter and son-in-law featured on the cover!)

Breaking news!

The Kindle edition of When the Clouds Roll By, book 1 in my Till We Meet Again series, is on sale now for $1.99! Also available in other ebook formats, so check your favorite retailer soon, before this great low price goes away!
