,

what is the worse thing that can happen when a friend asks you for help and you actually try to help?

That they think your help made it worse.

Last week a friend of mine reached out asking if I had advice to help her reconnect with her creativity.

"I have something better than advice, I have actual exercises!" And I sent her the Creative Break.

A few days later she told me "I've just tried your Creative Break this morning and I will never show you the result."

My heart sank a little bit.

I asked questions, trying to understand if the explanations weren't clear enough or if she didn't enjoy the process and she explained: "You wrote not to take it too seriously and to be creative, so that's what I did."

"Ok that's great! So could you read the quote at the end?" I asked.

"Nope, it looked like animals"

What?!

At that point I was curious; and a bit worried. So on Monday, I went to her place, and begged her to show me what she did with the connected dots.

This is what happened:

My friend's Creative Break

I thought that was brilliant!

She didn't try to connect my dots, she just went for it and connected dots, creating random shapes.

"Do you wanna try doing it that way?"

I yelled an enthusiastic yes. And so, for 10 minutes, three adults freely created random shapes, connecting dots in mysterious ways.

It was one of the most relaxing moment of my day.

What my friend did kind of blew my mind and reminded me that creativity is really hiding in every action we take.

There is no right or wrong, there's only play and exploration!

So don't hesitate to connect the dots the way only you can connect them. And share it with your friends!

My friend thought she should be ashamed of what she did, and was planning to hide this page forever.

After seeing my reaction and making a collective session of "random connections", she decided to put the dots on her fridge!

You can never know what the outcome will be, but you are the one in control of doing something one way or another!

If after that you decide to make your own crazy connections, send me a pic!

Happy Creative Break to you, !

'Til soon,

Nathalie
