Greetings Doctor Who: Legacy fans!  We hope you are having a marvelous holiday season and that you've enjoyed our 2014 Advent Calendar!  The Advent Calendar levels will continue to be available and drops will continue to drop 100% until January the 5th.  After January the 5th, the levels will remain but the rewards will switch to rare, as with story levels in the game.  So now would be a good time to plough ahead if you haven't finished gathering your goodies.

We are currently busy with the next update to the game which should be coming to you in January.  A couple highlights of the new update (for all platforms) include:

2 New Perks:

• An advanced player Perk which will increase your damage across the board but will also leech your life away every turn while active.
• The reverse of this Perk, which will regen health every turn but will lower your damage output.

A New Buff System:

A new buff system which will reward you for playing with a random buff upon completion of a level which will be good for use in your next level.  The buff will expire following that second level and result in another random buff for your following level and so forth.  

The buffs include: increased team damage, increased team health, and increased drop rates. 

Last Christmas

As you may already know, on December 26th, we released two new levels based on the Christmas special of Doctor Who!

• "Last Christmas" can be found in the Advent Calendar tab and will reward you with Santa Claus as an ally!
• "Fan Area Last Christmas" can be found in the Fan Area and will reward you with a new costume for the 12th Doctor!

Anna's Playground

A few days ago we were contacted by a fan of the game who wrote to us about his young child. She’s a huge fan of Doctor Who and, because of some difficulties she has, one of the places they both find time to relax together is while he plays Legacy and she watches.

While she loves to watch him play and guess who the enemies and allies are, there aren't any levels in the game balanced for this young age, so she can’t actively play the game in the way she wants to. We were touched by the email and Lee was intrigued and inspired enough to take this on as a fun design challenge.

So, on the 5th of January, we’ll be launching our first new level of the New Year. The level will be in the Fan Area, and is named “Anna’s Playground”. The enemies do a maximum of 1 damage, all enemy abilities are non-damaging, and practically any team of level 1 characters will be able to get through the waves without any difficulty whatsoever. To make the game play easier we've removed pink gems (since they’re unnecessary in this level), and after testing we also removed black gems since having less colors on the screen makes matching colors significantly easier (and increases the rate of combos, which are a great feedback mechanism for kids). No experience will be earned in the level, no fragments either - this isnt a farming level.
